FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How does comment-to-DM automation actually work?
You set a trigger keyword on a campaign (either across every post or one specific post). When a comment matches, SmartEcho Automate posts a public reply and sends the commenter a Direct Message with the details, link, or offer you configured — all within Instagram's messaging rules.
Do I need a specific type of Instagram account?
Yes — you need an Instagram professional account (Business or Creator) connected to a Facebook Page, since Meta's messaging and comment APIs are only available to professional accounts.
Will this get my account flagged or restricted?
SmartEcho Automate sends replies and DMs through the official Instagram Graph API, respecting Meta's rate limits and messaging policies, rather than simulating clicks in the app. That's the same integration path Meta expects automation tools to use.
Can more than one person on my team manage campaigns?
Yes. Invite teammates into your workspace as an Owner or a Member. Owners can manage billing, team membership, and workspace settings; Members can create and run campaigns day-to-day.
What happens to comments and DMs that don't match a keyword?
Nothing — automation only acts on comments that match a campaign's configured keyword. Everything else is left alone, and you can always reply manually from the unified inbox.
Can I pause automation on a single conversation?
Yes. Every conversation in the inbox has a pause toggle, so you can take over a specific thread by hand without turning off the campaign for everyone else.
What data do you store about my followers?
We store what's needed to run and report on your campaigns — the follower's Instagram-scoped ID and username, which keyword/campaign they matched, and message content exchanged through the automation. See our Privacy Policy for full detail.
Can I change plans later?
Yes, workspace owners can upgrade or downgrade at any time from the Billing page inside the console; changes apply to your current billing period.
